In line with well-established practice, Donald Trump’s legacy as President of the United States is being assessed following the end of his term in office. The reliability of the evaluations will be fostered by, among other things, deepening knowledge of the decisions made and their determinants, the emergence of the medium- and long-term effects of actions, as well as the quieting of emotions around Trump’s persona and manner of office. Evaluations will cover both the full spectrum of the presidency and selected areas, actions, effects, and methods of policy. Each of these assessments will be difficult because the whole is feedback to the components, the effects are feedback to the methods. However, partial assessments should be a contribution to the overall assessment.
