Food labelling - new legal solutions

1.Introduction

The aim of the article is to discuss the vital issue of food safety. Stress will be put on food labelling and, in particular, on marking of ingredients contained in a given food product. The discussed matter will be referred to related EU regulations and the act of 7.11.2014 on amending the act on commercial quality of agricultural and food products and the act on food and nutrition safety . The main rationale for the changes was the reinforcement of the protection of food safety throughout EU. The new solutions implemented by the European Commission resulted in:

the unification of the regulations concerning food labelling in EU member states,

the introduction of the new principles for placing information on food labels, which may affect the decisions made by consumers.

2.Sources of the food labelling reform
