Baran-Wesołowska Beata, A few remarks on the Polish Bill on the protection of whistleblowers presented by Polish non-governmental organisations

The purpose of my paper is to evaluate the draft act on whistleblower protection, which is available to the public – the Bill on the protection of whistleblowers . The Bill was developed by Polish non-governmental organisations and the Stefan Batory Foundation in cooperation with other non-governmental organisations, such as the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the Forum of Trade Unions, and the Institute of Public Affairs, and concerned compliance with the new Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2019/1937 of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law . In the presentation below, I will refer to the issue of the whistleblowing procedure as well as the proposed criminal sanctions which are a response to violations of whistleblower protection.
