Maroń Grzegorz, The influence of religious ideology over the legislation practice of local self-government authorities on the example of the establishment of saint patrons in cities (communities), counties and voivodeships

The practice of adopting saint patrons by medieval cities, is currently living its renaissance in Poland. Resolutions concerning a saint patron have been passed by councils in no less than 157 communities, 11 counties and by the regional council of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship . The aim of this publication is to verify the truthfulness of the stated thesis that the establishment of saint patrons by local authorities is motivated by religion and serves religious aims. If this came out to be the truth, then the given legislation practice should be determined as unconstitutional, as it is contradictory to the viewpoint impartiality principle.

In the first place, an approximation of resolutions concerning a saint patron was performed.
