Conference Summary B locking Illegal Content in the European Union. Implementation of Article 8(3) of Directive 2001/29/EC in Selected EU Countries

An international conference was held on 8 March 2018 in Warsaw. It was titled ‘Blocking illegal content in the European Union. Implementation of Article 8(3) of Directive 2001/29/EC in selected EU countries’. The conference was organized by the International Chamber of Commerce. The principal goal was to familiarize guests with the methods of blocking illegal content in the EU. The speakers presented the rationale behind Article 8(3) of Directive 2001/29/EC and proposals for instruments implementing the Directive.

The opening speech was delivered by Maciej Jamka – Head of the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He greeted the attendees and turned the podium over to Waldemar Saniewski – Chairman of ICC’s Intellectual Property Commission.
