The subject of this publication is the scope of issues related to the institution of Ombudsman for Children, in particular determination whether the activities undertaken by them in the process of enacting and applying laws are effective and protect the rights and well-being of children.

Ab initio, it should be noted that an ombudsman is an international institution. Poland, like most countries in the world, has authorities of the character of ombudsman or quasi-ombudsman, in the form of various institutionalized „advocates for rights”. It may be said that these authorities form a sort of network.
